2008 Agape Camp and Children's Advocacy March

Agape Camp is a day camp that was held June 2nd-6th, 2008, at Southern Hills Christian Church, where 17 children ages 10-14 came together to learn how to make lasting changes in God's community through advocacy and nonviolence. During the week of camp, the participants visited East Sixth Street Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) to hear stories of how our friends in faith have experienced racial inequalityl took a tour of the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial; and concluded their week by participating in a march with Children's Advocacy Agencies from around the Oklahoma City area that brought a voice and awareness to the needs of children in our community. At the end of the march the children presented Mayor Dan O'Neil with a diversity quilt showing they are accepting of all of God's children. Here are some pictures from the march and Agape Camp.
