I began working at Southern Hills in August of 1989. Originally hired as the secretary/receptionist, the job changed and grew along with the church.

My husband, Mark, and I, have two wonderful children, Carter and Ashley, and a beautiful daughter-in-law, Stephanie. And, I must mention last, but certainly not least of the family members, our precious grand-dogs, Paco & Motley, and a grand-cat, Casper.

Carter works in Overland Park, Kansas for Coldwell Banker Relocation Center as Director of Destination Services and is also attending Rockhurst University, pursuing his Master's degree in Education. He will graduate in December of this year and is looking forward to teaching. Stephanie is in her last year as a medical resident, working between two different hospitals in the Kansas City area. She is specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Ashley lives in Baltimore, Maryland, and works in Annapolis for Varuna Salon and Spa as a stylist.

I consider myself so fortunate to have a place to work that is much more than a job. It is a service and a gift I am humbled to be able to give, but mostly to receive. From one who knows from the inside out...this is a great place to work and worship.
